"Witch Doctor" is a song by Icelandic model and singer-songwriter Freya and the second single from her debut studio album Arabian Nights.
Background[]
Freya revealed the chorus of the song on 11 August 2014 on Twitter while revealing the track listing for the album. The song retains the 80s influence as seen with the previous single "Hellfire", but also incorporates a reggae beat in addition to using steel drums throughout the chorus. Lyrically, it speaks about how the protagonist regrets their last romance due to not realizing their significant other was not right for them. Many media outlets have suggested the song is inspired by Freya's ex-boyfriend Dirk Diamond.
